A National Community of Child Welfare Attorneys and Professionals

Welcome to the NACC Community!  We’re a community of child welfare, juvenile justice, and family law professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children. While our membership includes children’s attorneys, parents’ attorneys, agency attorneys, and juvenile court judges; it also includes multidisciplinary professionals, including doctors, social workers, educators, and lay advocates with a specific interest in advancing the rights and well-being of children in the child welfare system.

We believe it is important to offer our membership a forum for meaningful discussion and exchange. Our monthly newsletter, The Advocate, and our newly expanded bi-monthly journal, The Guardian, include important child welfare news, law and policy updates, and more. In addition, our email listserv provides an excellent forum for professional dialogue.  NACC members also receive a discount on The Chronicle for Social Change.

We offer a variety of training programs to help child welfare attorneys provide the best possible services to children and families. Our curricula are designed by nationally recognized experts in child welfare, and our experienced trainers use a variety of teaching tools and methods. We also offer custom curriculum to meet the particular needs of your jurisdiction.  Members receive discounts on all NACC trainings.  NEW in 2019: Member Webinar Series, produced free for members bi-monthly.

Our NACC Policy page provides a number of resources to help you protect the rights of children through policy advocacy. These include our NACC Policy Agenda, Policy News and Information on Title IV-E funding for legal representation, information on the Family First Preservation Services Act, and information on how to request NACC assistance, both through the filing of amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs and by helping with other important reform efforts in your state.
