Advocates Cheer Probe of Racial Bias in Mississippi School Discipline [Juvenile Justice Information

As a result of a complaint filed in April 2015 by DeSoto County Parents and Students for Justice (DCPSJ) and the Advancement Project, a national civil rights organization, the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights has launched a federal investigate to determine whether discriminatory school disciplinary policies are disproportionately affecting black students in DeSoto County, Mississippi.
