The ABA is pleased to announce the release of Healthy Beginnings, Healthy Futures: A Judge’s Guide. This Guide addresses the wide array of health needs of very young children in the child welfare system. By sharing current research on physical health, child development, attachment, infant mental health, and early care and education, the authors provide tools and strategies to help judges promote better outcomes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers who enter their courtrooms.
The Guide can be accessed through its own webpage, which allows for download of the full PDF version, individual chapters, or chapter Practice Tips: http://www.abanet.org/child/baby-health/healthybeginnings.html. Free hard copies of the book can also be ordered through the ABAServiceCenter although S&H charges apply (directions can be found on the webpage). The Guide can also be accessed from our ABACenter on Children and the Law webpage as a featured publication (www.abanet.org/child) and from our IUMCH project webpage: http://www.abanet.org/child/baby-health.shtml.
