Michigan Court of Appeals Demands Due Process for Families in TPR Proceedings [NACC Blog]

In this week’s blog post, NACC Executive Director Kendall Marlowe discusses a recent ruling from the State of Michigan Court of Appeals in which the court struck down the provision of Michigan’s termination of parental rights statute. The provision in question allowed courts to terminate a parent’s rights based solely on a previous TPR, without any showing of a parent’s continued lack of fitness.
