North Carolina Child Welfare Law Trial Skills Academy
Monday, February 22, 2016
The NACC has developed a trial skills training curriculum and evaluation for the North Carolina Court Improvement Program. In an effort to conduct pilot research, we will be providing two training sessions entitled North Carolina Child Welfare Law Trial Academy Day A and Day B.
There are two opportunities to participate in this pilot training:
- Day A will be presented in Charlotte on March 11, 2016 and in Raleigh on March 18, 2016
- Day B will be presented in Charlotte on April 1, 2016 and in Raleigh on May 6, 2016
It is our hope that registrants can participate in both Day A and B, but the trainings are designed to be stand alone. Since this is a pilot, our initial training sample will be small (approximately 24 participants in each session), so registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. Our ideal participants are attorneys who practice in abuse, neglect, and dependency court on a consistent basis. Once we reach capacity, we will inform participants and maintain a waiting list in the event there are cancellations. Please see the link below for registration information and more details. In the upcoming years, after the curriculum and evaluation tools are vetted, we are planning to provide this training throughout the state.
