Why I Became a CWLS – Simona Snyder
Wednesday, January 27, 2016
The NACC is proud to announce our newest Child Welfare Law Specialist – Simona Snyder. Here’s what she had to say about becoming a CWLS:
I am employed as a Law Guardian at the Office of the Public Defender in Bergen County, New Jersey. A Law Guardian is a court appointed attorney for children in child welfare matters. I have been practicing law for 10 years, and most of those years have been spent in my current role as a Law Guardian. Although I am proficient in child welfare law, the CWLS certification provides me with more credibility as a professional among my colleagues and clients. There are numerous certifications in other areas of the law, but the CWLS certification is the most well-known national certification in child welfare law. It is an honor to be acknowledged as a specialist in my field, and to be part of a group of lawyers that is passionate about this important area of law.
