October is National Youth Justice Awareness Month(YJAM).
Every year, an estimated 250,000 youth younger than age 18 are tried, sentenced, or incarcerated in the adult criminal justice system. Sponsored by the Campaign for Youth Justice, YJAM raises awareness of the consequencesof prosecuting youth in the adult system and brings communities togetherto advocate for reform.
Campaign for Youth Justice offers a range of free online resources in support of YJAM, including an event planning toolkit.
