Child Abuse Deaths in America: A Briefing on Fatal Child Abuse and How to Prevent It

Hosted by: the National Coalition to End Child Abuse Deaths with honorary co-host Representative Ted Poe and special guest speaker Tamara Tunie from Law and Order: SVU

Thursday, May 24, 2012

10:00-11:00 AM

441 Cannon House Building

Despite the best efforts of those whose job it is to stop child maltreatment, the U.S. continues to fall short of protecting its youngest citizens. At least seven children die in America everyday day from abuse and neglect. According to federal data, 15,510 children are known to have died from abuse and neglect between 2001 and 2010. This briefing will provide information on the scope of fatal child abuse in America and a discussion of what we know works to prevent these deaths in order to build support for a national agenda to better protect America's children.

Please RSVP to jdoran@everychildmatters.org by Wednesday May 23rd.
