ART® Training Content

This workshop provides training on how to conduct the research-based interventions presented in the widely acclaimed book, Aggression Replacement Training® -Revised Edition

Workshop participants will learn "best practice" interventions for helping aggressive youth and for dealing with school violence and vandalism. The workshop format includes lecture, demonstration, and role-playing via experiential learning. Model fidelity, implementation planning and programmatic support is integral to the training.

Throughout the 2-day workshop, whether the topic is prosocial skills training methods or school violence, major emphasis is given to generalization techniques. Workshop participants will learn how to increase the likelihood that prosocial skills learned in the training setting (school or institution) will actually transfer to other settings (home, community, playground, work, etc.) and endure over time.

Aggression Replacement Training® is recognized by the Department of Education Safe and Drug Free Schools as a "Promising Approach." It is considered a "Model Approach" by the US Department of Corrections and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. The National Institute for Justice), in collaboration with the US Department of Justice, recognizes the Aggression Replacement Training® model as "What Works" among scientifically researched effective programs.
