NCAC - Child Fatality Investigations Training

In this 2½ day training, participants will learn fundamental techniques and gain knowledge of the investigation and prosecution of child fatalities with comprehensive training on the detection, intervention, investigation, and
prosecution of these cases.
Participants will learn:
- To recognize the necessary investigative skills required to conduct child fatality investigations and
to utilize techniques to identify suspect development if the death is ruled non-accidental.
- Strategies to understand and dispel myths surrounding suspect interrogations and fundamentals to
conduct a successful interrogation.
- Information on pediatric milestones, death certification and how it applies to child fatalities and the
- Legal implications and requirements of relevant federal and state law, case decisions and regulations
for a successful investigation and prosecution.

Law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and other juvenile justice system professionals
