CALL FOR ABSTRACTS OPENS MAY 1, 2011
The Children’s Bureau’s Office on Child Abuse and Neglect (OCAN), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration on Children, Youth and Families is pleased to announce the 18th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect to be held April 16-20, 2012, in Washington, DC.
The 18th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect will be held in conjunction with the Children’s Bureau’s Centennial Celebration Year. The conference theme, Celebrating the Past – Imagining the Future, highlights our desire to embrace our past successes, to learn from our challenges, and to realize our dream of eliminating child abuse and neglect. This year’s theme also recognizes our history and journey and honors our accomplishments in child abuse and neglect prevention, intervention, research, and treatment. Finally, the theme reflects our strong resolve to continue delivering comprehensive services to protect children and strengthen families. We look ahead proudly committed to continuous quality improvement and determined to prevent the maltreatment of children.
We invite abstracts that emphasize best practices, cutting-edge research, and that focus on future advancements in our work with children and families.
Abstract submissions should reflect the theme and focus on one of the following areas:
